Extra info: The Fiat 124 Sport Spider was designed by Pininfarina, the design house that was also designing most Ferrari creations. This car was manufactured by Fiat (with a Pininfarina body) in Turin, as were all 124 Spiders until October 1981, when Pininfarina took over manufacturing in their San Giorgio Canavese plant. The coupé and spider were marketed in the Canada and US beginning in 1968. In 1969, the Spider already featured four-wheel disc-brakes, double overhead cams, hesitation wipers, steering-column mounted lighting-controls, radial-ply tyres and a five-speed manual transmission.
This car spent more than half its life in Miami, witness the windshield membership sticker of the Miami Yacht Club. It was fitted with a rare 2.0 Ritmo Abarth engine, giving it some serious punch. In 2004 it was imported to Holland where it was cherished by one single owner until we bought it in 2016. It was not used a lot and never spent a single night outdoors since in Europe. The American style bumpers and indicators were removed, which gives the car it’s full elegance. Even without the Pininfarina badges, everyone can see that this is the seventies Ferrari's little sister. This Spider is a seriously fast motorcar and the sound through the double twin Weber carburettors is simply glorious.
Her real Abarth Stilauto wheel rims were refurbished (+ new tyres), new brakes (pads & disks) and a new electronic ignition system were fitted.
This is the most affordable way to have your own piece of Italian Automotive Couture, with seventies racecar performance.
(Please note: on the pictures there is moist underneath the car. This is a temprary problem with the roof of the building, not the car ;-)
